Which areas around Pittsburgh does the roadside line cover?

The line covers the city of Pittsburgh and nearby Allegheny County towns: Downtown and the Strip, the South Side and Mount Washington, Oakland and the East End, the North Side, the South Hills suburbs, and the eastern and western parkway corridors.

If you're just outside these areas, call anyway and say where you are. The operator will say whether a truck can reach you.

For what each service involves, see flat tire repair, battery replacement, fuel delivery and towing.

Roadside assistance in Downtown and the Strip District

Downtown sits between the Allegheny and the Monongahela with the Fort Pitt, Fort Duquesne and Liberty bridges at its edges. Most calls here are dead batteries in parking garages, where the clearance height decides which truck can come, and flat tires on the bridge approaches. The Strip District's loading zones and Smallman Street are tight for a tow truck, so give a cross street.

Roadside assistance in South Side and Mount Washington

The South Side flats run along East Carson Street, with the Birmingham and Liberty bridges behind them and the slopes climbing toward Mount Washington. Steep streets and tight parking mean cars slide into curbs in winter and batteries die on cars parked for days. Give the street and which way the car faces on the hill.

Roadside assistance in Oakland, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill

Oakland, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill sit on the Parkway East corridor and the approach to the Squirrel Hill Tunnel. Garage batteries, flats from potholes on Forbes and Fifth, and stalls in tunnel traffic are the usual calls. Hospital and university garages often have low clearance.

Roadside assistance in North Side and Ross Township

The North Side reaches from the stadiums and the Fort Duquesne Bridge up to Route 28 and the Parkway North, with Ross Township to the north. Game day traffic, stalls on the Parkway North and flats on the climbs toward the north hills are typical. Name the exit or cross street you're nearest.

Call (412) 789-1262

Roadside assistance in Monroeville and Penn Hills

Monroeville and Penn Hills sit at the eastern end of the Parkway East, past the Squirrel Hill Tunnel, near the Turnpike interchange. Breakdowns on the Parkway and in the large retail lots along Route 22 are common. Give the lot or the exit.
